The position
We are looking for Process Modelling Scientists at all levels (Job seniority depending on the experience of the candidate) who has a strong scientific understanding of process/mechanistic and/or capacity modelling. Preferably, you have a good understanding of unit operations and facility design of synthetic manufacturing platforms.

Your main task will include the following:

  • Model development: Developing, updating and maintaining process models at varying fidelity levels
  • Model application: Performing what-if, uncertainty and sensitivity analyses
  • Support process development, improvement and optimization: Identifying and testing potential ideas in collaboration with project stakeholders, incl. internal and external development scientists and process SMEs
  • Process design/retrofit: create and establish digital twins as an approach to support facility design
  • Establish kinetic/mechanistic models for key processes in close collaboration with laboratory scientists (internal and external)
  • Support technical due diligences.

This job gives you a unique opportunity to work with multiple stakeholders within Novo Nordisk as well as with our external partners.

Qualifications
To succeed in the role, we expect that you have some of the below qualification and is eager to learn any remaining required skillset:

  • Ph.D. or M.Sc. in chemical and/or process engineering, or equivalent.
  • An understanding of modelling & simulation programs
  • Experience with one or more programming languages, such as Python or VBA
  • Good understanding of organic chemistry and physical chemistry is an advantage
  • Knowledge of the principles of process chemistry, and herein a good understanding of unit operations associated with chemical manufacturing, is an advantage.

Your ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across different disciplines is highly valuable. About the department
As part of Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply organization, you will be assigned to Emerging Technologies API Manufacturing Development (ET API MDev), a cross-functional area currently being established within CMC area. We work at the interface between CMC and full-scale manufacturing with a focus on process understanding, implementation, optimization, and life cycle management. We offer a very interesting and varying job with the opportunity to work with other highly qualified and motivated colleagues in a multidisciplinary project environment.
