Your role and responsibilities
We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our dynamic team within the Process Control Platform (PCP) at ABB Process Automation business area. PCP is at the forefront of developing cuttingedge automation products, encompassing both hardware and software solutions for monitoring, process control, and optimization across diverse industries. As an Industrial Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and performance of our hardware solutions.
As an Industrial Engineer within our Process Control Platform (PCP), you’ll experience a dynamic and creative work environment. You’ll have the opportunity to manage complex projects, tackle exciting challenges, and contribute to innovative solutions. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of ABB by creating new rules and processes. Specifically, you’ll focus on equipment management and maintenance. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.

• As an NPI (New Product Introduction) project manager, you’ll delegate tasks within the ABB departments. Your ability to assign responsibilities and coordinate efforts will be crucial for successful project execution.
• Your primary focus will be on monitoring existing production suppliers. You’ll gather information about their challenges and relay it to the relevant ABB departments (often R&D) for resolution.
• With production movements occurring between suppliers, you’ll play a pivotal role. This involves gathering project plans, facilitating discussions with both exiting and target suppliers and ensuring a seamless production start in new locations.

Qualifications for the role

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Experience in test development for electronics
• Professional expertise in Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) or introduction of new products in mass production or similar
• Knowledge of wiring diagrams, schematics
• Good communication skills and a team player
• Good oral and written English
• Strong quality mindset – strive for perfection
• Open and global mindset
• Knowledge of production processes, hardware design is beneficial
• Knowledge of IPC electronics standards is beneficial
• Knowledge of LabView and/or TestStand is beneficial
