HV Control Engineer

Join us in this role where you’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with Taiwanese law and legislation and the Ørsted Electrical Safety Rules regarding the operation and maintenance of the electrical systems. You’ll also be responsible for managing a team of site specialists and technicians, the execution of the day-to-day operation, and maintenance of our wind farm Transmission Asset.

Welcome to APAC Operations
You’ll be part of HV Transmission team where you, together with your colleagues, will prioritize safety in all things you do and adhere to all relevant Taiwanese regulations. You’ll undergo a series of job training programs to ensure that you develop the right competencies to safely operate and maintain electrical assets in operations. You’ll gain a strong electrical safety mindset and familiarity with various transmission assets. As a team, we support each other, have an open mind to different opinions and ideas, and are keen to learn and share experiences to be safer, more productive, and efficient.

You’ll play an important role in:

• developing a strong, positive electrical QHSE culture and ensuring that there is always a focus on maintaining and improving standards related to how electrical safety is managed on site
• being responsible for planning, directing, and managing the operation and maintenance of our transmission asset consisting of onshore and offshore substations
• effectively managing and performing surveillance of our Transmission Asset, and being the direct contact in communicating with Taiwan’s Transmission System Owner
• ensuring the required competences and skills are defined, established, assessed, and maintained for safe operation and maintenance of electrical equipment
• participating in developing of our Transmission Asset strategy for Changhua 1 and 2a and any upcoming Taiwanese assets in accordance with our asset management policy.

To succeed in the role, you:

• have a good UHV/HV transmission network and power systems knowledge, preferably with electrical engineering degree
• have significant experience in UHV/HV operational management, ideally within an engineering or utilities business, preferably with experience in communicating with the Transmission System Owner
• have proven experience and insight in Taiwanese legislation towards electrical safety and requirements, coupled with experience of coordinating activities and resource management
• have an analytical approach to your work and an ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously and calmly without losing perspective
• are able to create excellent results through teamwork and develop good relationships with your colleagues and external business partners.
