You’ll will play an important role in: As our NOx Certification Specialist in our Engine Process Platform Development Department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our innovative solutions for decarbonizing the marine industry align with current and future IMO legislations.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Work with leading engine technologies, including our low-carbon dual fuel engines enabling the carbon neutral transition for the maritime industry.
- Planning, analyzing, and following up on emission surveys to ensure compliance with IMO NOx regulations.
- Developing and implementing IMO NOx certification concepts for our two-stroke engine portfolio, including retrofit projects and newbuilding projects.
- Staying updated on current and future IMO legislation to ensure our products remain strategically aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Leading certification projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Providing technical guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
A typical week will include supporting ongoing projects, both in term of planning and executing certification-related activities such as developing certification concepts, making guidelines, writing technical reports and communicate with external stakeholders including licensees, classification societies, flag states etc.
We have a cross-departmental team for certification tasks, and you will take on a role, contributing to these efforts. This group is responsible for development of certification procedures, the execution of certification related task in the field, and the use and further development of existing calculation and certification tools. You will have the opportunity to shape the direction of the group, leveraging your expertise to influence processes and drive improvements in our certification approach.
Travelling is to be expected in this role including participation in relevant measurement campaigns on test bed at our licensees, sea trials and meetings with various stakeholders around the world. Business trips vary from a few days up to 3 weeks and will amount to approximately 60 travel days per year.
You will closely collaborate with other departments and engineering fields, enjoying the freedom to influence your own specialist area.
We imagine that you: Are a dedicated and curious team player with relevant skills such as
- Relevant engineering background or have equivalent education specialized within environmental engineering / emission technology, combustion engines or environmental law.
- 5-8 years of professional experience in relevant and reputed organization
- Highly organized, with a strong dedication to documentation, reporting and attention to details
- Have strong stakeholder and communication skills in English, verbally as well as in writing
- Demonstrate strong technical expertise and proficient technical writing abilities.
- Possess computational and data evaluation skills
- The ability to work under pressure, especially during emission measurement campaigns on test bed or sea trials
- Have a positive mindset, enjoying sharing experience and sustain organizational learning.
