We are seeking an experienced Visual Merchandiser to join our Global VM team. The position is based in Tokyo Japan and will report directly to our Head of Global Visual Merchandising in Denmark.

You will implement visual merchandising strategies, enhance customer experience, and provide market support to promote sales and increase brand awareness. Your focus will be on window campaigns, in-store VM executions, and market governance across a network of 30+ stores in Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia etc.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement Strategies: Execute visual merchandising strategies and seasonal VM guidelines aligned with marketing and sales goals.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with regional marketing and sales teams to ensure visual merchandising supports promotional and seasonal campaigns.
  • Engage with Stores: Collaborate with area managers, store owners, and store managers to ensure proper execution of visual merchandising guidelines.
  • VM App Management: Manage the VM app as the primary communication tool between stores and the head office.
  • Feedback and Reporting: Provide feedback to stores on window and in-store executions and monitor brand VM compliance reports for the APAC markets (Except Greater China.)
  • Store Visits: Conduct regular store visits to assess and improve visual merchandising standards.
  • VM material orders: Secure stores have the VM materials needed for each campaign, linked to layouts and budgets.
  • VM Floorplans: Provide stores with VM refresh floorplans for refits, new openings, seasonally.
  • Local VM Productions: Secure local VM productions, artworks etc. were needed for each campaign.
  • Training and Coaching: Train and coach store teams on visual merchandising techniques and standards to ensure consistent brand presentation.
  • New Store Openings/refits: Provide visual merchandising solutions for new store openings in collaboration with the Store Design team.
  • Translations: Secure translations for various languages (price signs and other in-store communication tools.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective execution of visual merchandising initiatives.
  • Sales Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate sales data to assess the effectiveness of visual merchandising initiatives and make recommendations for future improvements.
  • Presentations: Present VM guidelines to key stakeholders in the markets.
  • Market Feedback: Provide market feedback to the Global VM team.

What you bring
We are seeking someone enthusiastic about visual merchandising with a proven track record in implementing strategies that drive sales. The ideal candidate will balance brand and market needs and thrive in a collaborative environment.
Moreover, you will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in visual merchandising, focusing on VM execution and market support. Experience managing a cluster of stores, countries, or markets is preferred.
  • Sound communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally. Effective problem-solving abilities are similarly important.
  • General retail understanding and hands-on experience in the field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Great intercultural and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with InDesign and photoshop.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 40 days a year.
  • Ability to showcase a portfolio of previous work/projects.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.

Compensation: Competitive salary and benefits package.
