Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of our Global Public Affairs team, you'll be at the epicentre of where Maersk’s business strategy intersects with geopolitics, policy-shaping, and sustainability. We support all parts of the business on political issues, and we have a global responsibility. As an intern in Global Public Affairs, you will develop a nuanced understanding of how political, economic, and social shifts shape the future of international trade, infrastructure development, and decarbonization. You will work with a broad range of tasks, including:
- Engaging in rigorous desk research and analysis to inform our strategic decisions and policy advocacy across the business.
- Develop and implement comprehensive engagement strategies for our top leadership to enhance the company's presence at key global forums such as the UN Climate Change Conferences (COPs), World Economic Forum (WEF) meetings, and regional Climate Weeks.
- Oversee the planning and execution of high-level political visits to Maersk’s headquarters, including coordinating logistics, setting agendas, and briefing senior management.
- Conducting deep-dive analyses into how global political shifts and legislative changes are reshaping the landscape of international trade and affecting Maersk's strategic direction.
- Crafting compelling positions, deepening our strategic frameworks, and supporting engagement plans on a range of political topics.
- Supporting on ad hoc tasks with the potential to embark on special projects with the autonomy to steer your own course, making tangible impacts on our global strategy.

If you're pursuing a master's degree or studying the last year of your bachelor’s degree in politics, economics, business, or another relevant field, and possess a keen interest in political, regulatory, and strategic issues with a global scope, we want to hear from you. Your ability to synthesize complex political and business concepts, coupled with your analytical and organizational skills, will set you apart. The internship is a full-time position (37 hours/week) at our Copenhagen headquarters from February to July. We are, however, flexible to accommodate potential scheduling conflicts and your university credit transfer requirements.
