Data Engineer with expertise in Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric, Copenhagen
Valcon A/S
Are you a talented Data Engineer with a flair for designing and building robust data systems? Do you feel at home working in Databricks, Azure and Fabric, using technologies such as Python, PySpark, SQL, Purview and Profisee? If so, we are looking for you!
We’re keen to hear from data professionals who are ready to take their skills to the next level while collaborating with some of the best minds in the industry.
About us
Valcon is a leading European management consulting firm with Scandinavian roots. With offices in the Netherlands, Denmark, the UK, Sweden, Germany, Croatia and Serbia, we strive to connect strategy with operations through innovative technology and data. We are looking for individuals who are driven and possess a “can do” attitude.
What you’ll do
As a Data Engineer at one of Europe’s fastest-growing consultancies, you will:
- Solve complex challenges for Danish and international companies across industries
- Work side by side with skilled and experienced colleagues and clients, many of whom have several years of experience and backgrounds in executive positions in other companies
- Design and build scalable ETL pipelines to support our clients’ data integration and transformation needs
- Use cutting-edge tools and technologies like Databricks and Fabric to create meaningful solutions to our clients
- Leverage IaC to provision resources in modern data lakehouses
- Develop data models and architectures that enable efficient querying, reporting and analysis for complex organisations
- Engage in cross-functional teams to ensure data systems are aligned with business objectives and drive value
- Drive clarity not only around the “how”, but also the “why” for data engineering solutions
What we’re looking for
We want someone who is not only skilled but also committed to personal and professional growth. To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- A master’s degree and at least 3 years of experience as a data engineer or a similar role
- Ideally, hands-on experience with Databricks, Fabric and the wider Azure ecosystem for Data & AI
- A firm theoretical foundation for data modelling and data architecture paired with practical experience
- Familiarity with Git version control, DevOps, MLOps pipelines, CI/CD and test automation
- Proficiency in Python, SQL and ideally also PySpark
- Commitment to continuous professional and personal development, including certifying on key technologies (see below) at a reasonable pace
- Willingness to be an active member of professional communities by participating in (and potentially organising) events
Certifications we love
Amongst others, we value these certifications:
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional (or higher)
- DP-100 Azure Data Scientist Associate
- DP-203 Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure
- DP-600 Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
- DP-700 Fabric Data Engineer Associate
- AI-102 Azure AI Engineer Associate
- AZ-104 Azure Administrator Associate
- AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect Expert
It is not a problem if you don’t have them yet, but we do expect a commitment to achieve many of them over time. We will discuss your learning plan for the first 12 months during the interview process. This includes getting started on certifying as well as important advisory fundamentals, which we consider important to ensure full impact at our clients in every assignment.
We offer you
The opportunity to work in a diverse and international environment with an informal culture, a flat hierarchy, in which we cooperate across business areas and levels. You will be working with some of the most talented and experienced consultants, and you will become part of a value-driven company, where our values; Integrity, Together, Joy, Curious and Can do are the corner stones in everything we do.
We care about results, not methodologies. But first and foremost, we care about people and how we can constantly challenge each other to become better. To do better. Your background is less important to us than your ability to create results, to create change. We prize excellence and ingenuity but know that both must be grounded in reality. The reality of making our clients ready for the future.
A workplace in the heart of Copenhagen, Meldahlsgade 5, Copenhagen V.
