Exciting opportunity for a student assistant to gain valuable administrative skills within research education, networking and grant administration
Do you have an eye for detail? Are you organized in your work? Do you have strong English and IT skills? Then you may be our new student assistant who can help us deliver high-quality education and networking activities and administer our grant activities.

The Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy (DDEA) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented and structured student to join our Secretariat as an Administrative Student Assistant for 10 hours per week. The position will involve assisting with ad hoc practical administrative tasks related to the implementation of DDEA’s education, networking, and grant activities. In particular, you will work closely with the education and networking team, which plans and executes onsite and online education and networking activities for early-career researchers.

Tasks
Your primary tasks will be:

  • Create, publish and update event information in our event planning system and on the DDEA website.
  • Administer registrations for our events.
  • Collect material for, prepare and proof-read abstract books.
  • Prepare, collect and upload course material to the DDEA website.
  • Prepare and make material ready for events.
  • Create and set up participant evaluations.
  • Collect data for internal evaluation of events and enter these in Excel.
  • Send out direct marketing and targeted e-mails as well as speaker and participant mails, and follow-up on these.
  • Miscellaneous ad hoc tasks in the office, including administrative support to grant administration tasks.

Your experience and skills
We imagine that you are pursuing an education within communications, English, event management, marketing, or similar, but you could also be a student within science or health sciences. You have completed a secondary education and are perhaps pursuing a higher education at a university, business academy or university college.

To be considered for the job, you have excellent written English skills. Further, you have technical flair and strong proficiency in IT, and you are familiar with working in Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, and have an easy time learning new programmes. It will be an advantage if you also have experience with working in Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress).

In addition to having an eye for detail and being structured, you are a fast learner, self-driven, able to meet deadlines, and can focus on quality. At the same time, you are flexible, service-minded, and a team-player. You take pride in supporting others and it comes naturally to you to work closely with the other employees in the Secretariat in efforts to achieve the best results with administrative tasks.

We offer you

  • Great flexibility, exciting work tasks, and the opportunity to gain insight into education and event planning.
  • A central role in the DDEA Secretariat, a development-oriented organization where we focus on professionalism, quality and results, and prioritize service and integrity.
  • A varied and diverse everyday working life with close collaboration with your colleagues.

Place of employment, salary, and employment terms
The position is limited from 1 February 2025 to 31 January 2026 with the possibility of extension.

The weekly working hours are 10 hours.

As an employee of DDEA, you will be part of a secretariat of eight people located at Odense University Hospital, including another student assistant who handles our website and communication tasks. The position is office-based. The working hours are flexible and will be agreed upon, but we expect you to be able to work at least two days every week (full- or part-time).

Remuneration is on contractual terms in accordance with the current regional agreement and by further agreement.
