We are now looking for an Electrical engineer with experience from maritime, Oil & gas and/or defence industry for our technical department, who will participate in and contribute to customer projects and product development within our Lifeboat, Davit and Defence & Professional boat business. VIKING is the leading provider of such safety solutions in the Offshore, Merchant Marine, Defence industry and Renewable Energy sector.
In the role, you will be a key member of our Products & Technology team in Arendal, cooperating with colleagues all over the world. Our industry is fully dependent on regulations, standards and the ability to show compliance through our solutions. Experience in these fields; understanding class, independent verification and communicating how innovations can solve these issues would be very positive for the position.

Are You the Right Fit?
- You have Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technical engineering field
(Electrical engineering, Renewable energy) - Professional experience from oil & gas industry or related industry is very interesting, but newly graduated are also encouraged to apply. Experience from Defence industry is also considered advantageous
- Experience and understanding of technology and engineering practices
- Experience in use of Autocad or similar as an engineering software
- Experience with IECEx and ATEX equipment, IECEx certification is an advantage
- You have fluent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
