The Center for Glacial Rock Flour Research at the Globe Institute is looking for a center administrator and personal assistant (PA) for Professor Minik Rosing. The position is temporary and will expire on 31 August 2027. The position is to be filled on 15 February 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.

About us
The Center for Glacial Rock Flour Research’s vision is to strengthen food security and reduce global warming by removing carbon from the atmosphere and stimulating biological productivity, both in agriculture and in the oceans. We investigate the possibilities of applying naturally occurring rock flour from the Greenland Ice Sheet as a source of nutrients.
As center administrator and PA, you will be responsible for creating an overview of the center's many activities, including logistics, events, collaborations, finances, applications, reporting and publications. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, assist Professor Minik Rosing with the administrative management of the center, and communicate with relevant stakeholders such as business, universities and authorities in Denmark, Greenland and internationally.

Tasks
Your tasks will be:
- Planning, coordination and execution of the center's strategic projects in close collaboration with the center scientists
- Coordination of activities with business partners, including meeting planning and minutes
- Logistical planning and execution of export and import of research material, including interaction with public authorities in connection with permits, documentation in relation to regulations concerning biologically hazardous material, assessment of environmental impacts and customs clearance
- Support planning of the researchers' stay in Greenland/Denmark, including permits in connection with expeditions etc.
- Support the financial management of the center's grant in close cooperation with the project economist in the SUND Financial Center and the grant holder
- Coordination of communication and dissemination activities
- Assist with annual progress reports and action plans for the advisory panel
- Assist with reporting of the project to the grantor
- Coordination and organization of professional center and project activities, such as annual dialogue meetings with the foundation, seminars, symposia, workshops, visits, etc.
- Personal assistance and calendar management for center manager Professor Minik Rosing.
In addition to the above tasks, the center administrator is responsible for the day-to-day overview and management of the diverse administrative business and the contact with the central departments at the University of Copenhagen, as well as at the Globe Institute.
You must be able to work in the first line in relation to employees, researchers and partners. In a changing working environment with many independent tasks, you must therefore be able to prioritize and plan long-term processes in a professional manner and at the same time deal with urgent challenges.
Qualifications
We expect that:
- You have an academic background and preferably experience in research administration and project management
- You are interested and committed to working in an academic environment
- You have strong analytical skills that enable you to handle complex tasks independently
- You are responsible, structured, good at keeping an overview and good at following things through
- You thrive in an environment where agendas and tasks can change quickly
- You are proactive and enjoy working independently as well as in teams
- You take pride in contributing to a good working environment both socially and professionally for both yourself and your colleagues
- Knowledge of Greenlandic conditions will be a great advantage
- You have proficiency in English at a high level, both written and spoken. Danish is not a condition, but will be an advantage.
Terms of salary and employment
The position is to be filled on 15 February 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The weekly working hours are 37 hours in average. The position is temporary and will expire on 31 August 2027.
The employment and salary is made in accordance with the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
The Employment will be as academic officer or special Consultant. The salary is based on seniority. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
