Data Engineer to Nordea Finance
Nordea
Taastrup, DK, 2630
Job ID: 27426
Would you like to be part of solving complex data engineering and analysis problems across a number of technologies and business areas?
Do you enjoy thinking creatively about how to approach and bring structure to different data types, including unstructured data? And can you communicate clearly to different types of stakeholders?
We are looking for a data engineer to take an active role in an ongoing project, where you will be collaborating with a team of external consultants as well as stakeholders across the Nordea Finance organisation.
Nordea Finance and Nordea Finance Equipment are 100% owned subsidiaries of Nordea Bank. We finance large and small - everything from glasses to construction machinery.
About this opportunity
As our new data engineer, you will sit in our Collection team where your first role will be in the Data and Analytics stream, a currently ongoing remediation program. Here you will get to work closely with a team of data analysts/scientists who are sourcing, exploring and structuring data for a number of issues that require remediation.
The team has already built a data platform using SSMS, but as the project has evolved the need for an additional resource to take more steering on the platform has been identified. Additionally, in the near-future the platform is likely to be migrated to Snowflake, and the project will start working with data currently located in Hadoop.
Some of your tasks, at high level will be:
- Design, develop and maintain data solutions/pipelines
- Understand the domain data, doing exploratory analysis and supporting the mathematical modelling being done by the team
- Create frameworks or reusable modules to ensure consistency and potentially speed-up of integration of new data sources
- Refactoring of current data pipelines for optimality
However, an openness to also be involved in other parts of the team’s work is welcome. Who you are
You bring strong technical skills and can see the broader perspective in what we do, to build short- and long term solutions. You are curious about data and workflows, but also about your colleagues. You are not afraid to voice your opinion or ideas. Finally, the nature of the project requires that you are flexible in your working hours.
Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in being at our best – and that we imagine you share with us.
Furthermore, to succeed in this role, we believe that you:
- Demonstrate high level of data engineering skills and believe in applying best engineering practices like automatic testing and continuous integration
- Are curious to onboard on new technologies
- Are able to find joy in a hybrid world of legacy and new solutions as well as structured and unstructured data sources
- Do not hesitate to take on new challenges
Your experience and background:
- Hands-on experience in Python, GIT/Bitbucket and SQL
- Documentation of code and processes
- Basic understanding of graph databases (Neo4j)
- Basic experience with Snowflake
- Basic experience with Hadoop
- Are fluent in English
If this sounds like you, get in touch!
