About the Role
As the Recruitment and Cadet Manager, you will play a pivotal role in attracting, developing, and retaining top maritime talent in Denmark and South Africa. You will lead a dedicated team of two full-time employees and a student assistant, ensuring Maersk remains at the forefront of cadet recruitment and training.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead Cadet Recruitment & Retention: Develop and implement strategic recruitment initiatives for cadets in Denmark and South Africa, aligning with Maersk’s global cadet strategy.
- Oversee the Cadet Program: Manage and support approximately 400 Maersk-sponsored cadets, guiding them from recruitment to graduation.
- Team Leadership: Provide daily leadership and mentorship to the Cadet Team in Svendborg, ensuring a high-performing and engaged workforce.
- Strengthen Cadet Culture: Drive initiatives that foster a strong sense of belonging, motivation, and retention among cadets.
- Innovate & Enhance Programs: Continuously evaluate and optimize cadet recruitment and training programs to maintain Maersk’s competitive edge.
- Build Key Partnerships: Develop strong relationships with maritime and engineering schools, industry bodies, and internal stakeholders to enhance our talent pipeline.
- Drive South Africa’s Cadet Program: Develop and oversee the cadet program in South Africa, ensuring consistency with global Maersk standards and industry best practices.
What are we looking for
- Maritime Industry Knowledge: Experience in the maritime sector is an advantage but not a requirement.
- Leadership & Team Management: Strong ability to lead teams, drive projects, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Proven ability to align operational execution with long-term talent strategies.
- Training & Development Expertise: Experience in recruitment, training, or talent development, with a focus on engagement and retention.
- Outstanding Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with an empathetic and supportive approach.
- Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Ability to manage multiple projects, navigate challenges, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proactive & Self-Driven: Highly organized, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Danish is required.
