The opportunity
As a Sustainability Operations Manager, you will be a part of the Nordic COO Office team at EY.
Led by the Nordic Regional Director of Operations, the COO Office is our in-house consultancy unit that drives the strategic business and digital transformation agenda for EY Nordics. Our team is working on projects across various functional domains to solve key challenges and identify ways to improve our business in the Nordics.
The Sustainability Operations Manager will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of the Sustainability team. This role will ensure that all sustainability initiatives, including CSRD responsibilities, ISO certifications, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) measures, are effectively managed and implemented. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, experience in process improvement, and the ability to work with internal stakeholders and external vendors. You have preferably worked in a similar role.

- Coordinate the work activities across the Sustainability team in Nordics of ~8 colleagues to ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements (e.g. CSRD and ISO certification).
- Coordinate the implementation of (digital) sustainability initiatives and projects across team and other internal enablement functional teams (e.g. HR, Finance, Workplace Services, etc.)
- Manage relationships with vendors and advisors to ensure timely and effective delivery of services.
- Develop and implement better end-to-end processes and ways of working to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Sustainability team to realize deliverables.
- Team up with team and other internal enablement functions to improve compliance processes around relevant regulations and standards, including CSRD and ISO certifications.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to streamline operations.
- Lead and manage smaller sustainability initiatives from inception to completion.
- Develop project plans, set timelines, and monitor progress to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Drive successful and sustainable change in the organization.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Sustainability team, including budget management, team meetings and communications, and administrative tasks.
- Monitor and report on the team's performance and progress towards sustainability goals.
- Drive initiatives that enhance team collaboration.
- Work closely with internal functions to support the development of activities that decrease environmental impact and improve social and governance measures.
- Communicate sustainability initiatives and progress to internal and external stakeholders.

To qualify for the role, you must have
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability, operations management, or project management.
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles, CSRD responsibilities, and ISO certifications.
- Proven experience in process improvement and project management.
- Excellent organizational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English
It would help if you also have:
- Experience in budget management and financial reporting.
- Professional certifications in sustainability or project management (e.g., LEED, PMP).
- Experience with digital sustainability initiatives or tools / digital ways of working
