Insurance Specialist - global logistics insurance and transportation law
DSV A/S
Job Req Number: 89919
Time Type: Full Time
Would you like to deepen your knowledge of global logistics contracts, claims management and take part in risk management projects within the highly complex world of logistics?
In DSV Insurance, your decisions will have a direct impact, transcending our global organisation as you empower risk management to protect our constantly growing company.
“You don’t need in-depth knowledge about real-life logistics – we’re world leaders within that field. Instead, you get to build on your expertise even further and see the impact of your decisions up and close,” says Senior Director, Marine Insurance, Stine Monefeldt Holm.
Join the Marine Insurance department as part of DSV Insurance
We are 9 experienced insurance and legal logistic colleagues based in Denmark, one in Austria and 8 claims handlers in Warsaw. Together, we work to assist the business in dealing with insurance solutions, taking both legal and commercial perspectives into consideration to protect the DSV Group as well as our customers’ goods.
“Through M&As, DSV is constantly growing. And so are our professional skills as we deliver high-quality insurance solutions and claims handling that match the complexity of our organisation and global customers,” says Stine.
Link insurance with our global business
Your main focus will be on freight forwarders contractual liability underwriting and claims management. Your aim will be to initiate and execute new developments and improvements within logistics risk management together with your colleagues.
Specifically, you will be part of projects that aim to streamline and optimise our global contract- and claims management – as well as the reporting structure, systems and insurance solutions.
In this setting, you will:
- Evaluate freight forwarders liability exposures and insurance requirements in global customer contracts
- Handle complex international transport liability claims and coordinate between our suppliers, customers, external legal advisors and reinsurance partner
- Provide professional guidance to our internal stakeholders at a global scale within the DSV Group on insurance matters
- Assist the management in DSV Insurance in the monthly claims reporting and assist and supervise our claims teams in the centralised claims handling centres in Poland, Manila, and Mexico
- Ensure continuous risk management across our global activities and identify new exposures
Background in commercial and/or transportation law or insurance industry
As the gatekeeper in an organization that is constantly on the move, you need to be able to have discussions around freight forwarders liability provisions in global contracts as well as your claims decisions and to explain complex factors in a simple manner. You will be the decision-maker, so being able to stand your ground and engage in a constructive way with stakeholders is key.
Finally, we imagine that you:
- Have skills and knowledge within transportation-, maritime- and/or commercial law
- Have competences within contractual evaluation processes – and you are interested in developing your skills even further (underwriter, broker or legal)
- Have knowledge about claims handling/management (claims handler, broker or legal)
- Are fluent in Danish and English
