We are looking for a Crew Engagement Manager to join the Crew Engagement Team and drive initiatives that enhance communication, inclusion, and recognition across our fleet.
About the role
As a Crew Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies and initiatives that engage and inspire our seafarers. A primary focus will be maximizing the impact of the recently launched Crew Communication App, a platform that connects sea and shore teams like never before, providing a streamlined communication channel for updates, feedback, and company information. You will take ownership of key initiatives and collaborate with different teams across Fleet Management and Technology to ensure their successful implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Crew Communication App:
- Drive and take responsibility for the adoption, continuous improvement, and monitoring of the Teams/SharePoint based Crew Communication App, ensuring it becomes the primary platform for communication and feedback.
- Lead collaboration with internal teams to enhance app functionality, incorporate relevant local content, and expand its operational capabilities.
- Ignite communities and drive awareness campaigns, competitions, and engaging content to encourage regular use and active participation.
- Track and monitor app usage, engagement levels, and feedback to ensure it meets the evolving needs of our Seafarers.
- Ensure shore teams are equipped to effectively leverage the app to connect with Seafarers and integrate it into daily operations.
- Crew Engagement Strategy:
- Work with the Crew Engagement Lead and the team to design and implement strategies tailored to the unique needs of Seafarers, ensuring alignment with relevant teams across Fleet Management and Technology.
- Develop initiatives that promote inclusion, recognition, and personal development, ensuring all crew members feel connected and valued.
- Support processes like the Seafarers Engagement Survey, analyzing data and identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with teams across the organization, on shore and at sea, to integrate engagement initiatives into operations, training, and daily activities.
- Feedback & Communication:
- Facilitate clear communication between sea and shore teams to ensure transparency and actionable feedback.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a strong team player with excellent proven stakeholder management skills, able to work effectively with diverse teams and ensure engagement initiatives are successfully executed across the organization.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders to deliver successful engagement initiatives.
- Effective Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to bridge global teams and foster strong relationships.
- Content Management and Social Media Expertise: Experience in content creation, management, and curation, similar to social media platforms, ensuring the delivery of relevant, engaging, and timely content – specifically for our seafarers
- Project and Change Management: Experience managing complex projects, driving adoption, and achieving impactful results.
- Inclusion and Diversity Focus: A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all seafarers.
- Proactive Problem Solver: A solutions-oriented drive and approach to turning challenges into opportunities and driving continuous improvement.
- Experience: You can be a communication or HR professional, a channel manager, a people advisor, a strong project manager with a warm heart – or a little of everything. We expect you to join us with 3-4 years of experience working in a corporate environment
Workplace
The job is based in Copenhagen in Maersk’s offices in Nordhavn. You will be reporting to our Crew Engagement Lead and join a passionate group of colleagues in the Marine People Strategy Team, part of the global Maersk People and Culture team that serve the 12,000+ seafarers.
