About the job
Working closely with targeted CO and RO senior management teams, the Senior Project Management Advisor’s (SPMA) advisory role is informed by global evidence, best practices, and organizational learning. Serving as a support resource for ROs, COs, and other entities, the SPMA supports and monitors COs use of designated evidence sources, tools, policies, and frameworks. The SPMA supports global operational standardization and consistency in line with DRC’s 2025 Strategy and PMU work plans. Key responsibilities include:
Project Cycle Management (PCM) & Programme Quality Assurance Framework (PQAF):
- Support the global development of the PCM Field Guide, PQAF, and Programme Quilty (PQ) Benchmark tool
- Support RO uptake of PCM
- Conduct PCM and PQAF spot check missions to COs
- Contribute evidence to global policy and tools “parking lot”
- Represent PCM and PQAF in DRC working groups
- Support briefing notes on parking lot issues and Global SMT Guidance
Periodic Reviews:
- Contribute to Period Review (PR) global guidance development
- Assist ROs and COs with PR planning, using evidence from PCM reviews, missions, audits, and reports
HQ Monitoring and Oversight Missions:
- Help design global oversight mission methodology
- Conduct and document Danida monitoring missions
- Gather global learning and assist in Monitoring Policy rollout
- Plan and execute HQ missions with ROs and COs
General Support:
- Participate in cross-departmental committees
- Engage in regional and country office meetings
About You:
To be successful in this role we expect you to excel at translating your field and managerial experiences and capacity into constructive operational support and advisory to country offices and regional offices.
Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
- 7 years of experience within the humanitarian/development sector, with at least 3 years of field experience from being permanently based in a country office in a humanitarian/development organisation (either as a national or as an international staff) – preferably as a senior manager/key member of a Senior Manager Team with staff, budget and oversight responsibilities.
- Senior management experience: key member of a Senior Manager Team with staff, budget and oversight responsibilities
- Professional proficiency in written and oral English
- Excellent communication skills.
- Relevant academic background, to bachelor’s level or equivalent.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30 days a year to COs and ROs.
- Analytical skills to produce tangible and efficient operational solutions to often complex issues.
Desirable
- Professional proficiency in written and oral Spanish and/or French.
- Professional experience and knowledge from working in countries in Middle East, North Africa and/or Lantin America
- Sound understanding of how the humanitarian system is organised, current developments and risks posed to international NGOs, like DRC.
- Sound experience working with donors; fundraising, negotiation and contracting.
We offer
Contract length: We are excited to announce that we have two identical positions open. One of these positions is a permanent role, while the other is a temporary role with a duration of 12 months.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC (fuldmægtig niveau). This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
