We are looking for an electrical/controls engineer with specialization and more than 5 years of experience in power engineering and/or power plant controls (PPC) of renewable power plants (wind, photovoltaics, BESS, etc.), with focus on grid integration challenges.

We are looking for an electrical/controls engineer with specialization and more than 5 years of experience in power engineering and/or power plant controls (PPC) of renewable power plants (wind, photovoltaics, BESS, etc.), with focus on grid integration challenges.

Desired qualifications
Your experience covers PPC controller HW/SW development, grid code compliance, Matlab code development in Simulink/stateflow, SCADA/turbine interfaces, TSO/DSO I/O interfaces, memory/threads/priority task scheduling & management, configurations & parameters, logging, mimics.

You have been working for an original equipment manufacturer, a renewable energy project developer or operator or a utility.

Within grid integration you have knowledge/experience in several of the following areas:

  • Grid code requirements for power plants and grid connection compliance processes
  • Power plant controller development (e.g. active/frequency controllers, voltage controllers)
  • Power plant controller test / validation in lab environment
  • Power plant controller commissioning / field testing
  • Different coding languages (C , C++, Python, Fortran, etc.)
  • DLL generation, version control (GIT) & SW releases
  • Turbine & plant level modelling in RMS/EMT simulation tools (e.g. PSCAD, PowerFactory, PSS/E), including dll integration
  • Plant level grid & power system studies (e.g steady-state, short-circuit, harmonics, transient stability, small signal stability…)
  • Product development steps and processes (e.g. specifications, gate reviews)

Within power systems you have knowledge in design and operation of:

  • Renewable energy sources (wind, PV, BESS)
  • Power system operation
  • Plant level controller

You have a good command of English, written and spoken.
