Development manager - Cloud Center of Excellence

This position is based at our friendly Warsaw, Poland office or Roskilde, Denmark office and you will join our Cloud Center of Excellence team (CCoE), a part of Software & Quality Engineering Support. Software & Quality Engineering Support has the responsibility of ensuring resilient, secure, and compliant software development by providing tools, frameworks, and integration platforms. It drives technical excellence, enabling scalable, high-quality banking solutions that align with business growth and operational stability

The role as Development Manager for CCoE team offers an opportunity to lead a team that is central to BEC's cloud transformation journey. Together with the team, you will take us to the next step of our Cloud journey, supporting best practice, cloud adoption and transitioning into cloud.

The team consist of both Danes and Poles working side by side, and includes both team architects, business analysts, engineers and QA coordinator

At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to 4 days per month. Your direct manager will be Marek Grzebieluch.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

  • Lead the CCoE with a strategic vision for platform and system ownership, ensuring compliance adherence for BEC's public cloud infrastructure, currently focused on Azure, with potential expansion to other cloud providers in the future
  • Oversee the management and development of CCoE team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Ensure delivery of the team backlog, balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day operational needs
  • Working closely with Architecture, Product Organizations and both internal and external stakeholders, as well as Development Director in the domain
  • Travelling to Poland/Denmark about 6 times pr. year
  • You will report directly to the Development Director of Software & Quality Engineering

To succeed you will have:

  • A higher educational background (preferably within Finance or IT) and at least a few years of experience in a similar position
  • Proven experience in managing cloud services, specifically with Microsoft Azure, and experience with the Azure Cloud Adoption Framework.
  • Vision and experience in delivering self-service processes around Public Cloud Platforms to development teams
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a multicultural team of professionals from different technical backgrounds
  • Strong leadership capabilities and prior experience as a manager, including growing team competencies focused on Azure technology
  • A curious and open mindset, with a focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration
  • Experience working within a highly regulated environment
  • Experience with vendor management and complex stakeholder setups.
  • Practical knowledge of agile software development techniques (Scrum/SAFe)
  • A strong desire to improve the team’s ability to deliver as planned
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for working in teams in Denmark and Poland
