Join us as a Cloud Operations Specialist in our newly established CloudOpsSec team and enhance our day-to-day operations- and security governance of our GN Azure Cloud Platforms.

This role will heavily involve DevOps practices to ensure performant, reliable, secure and cost effective cloud operations.

Join the Core Cloud Team
You will become a part of Core Cloud, a team of experienced professionals within the Enterprise Platform. We are a collaborative group that supports and maintains the foundational technologies for the GN Group's global cloud initiatives.

We seek a Cloud Operations Specialist to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our Azure services. You'll handle governance and policy operations, ensuring seamless integration and compliance. Manage and optimize Azure managed services, building automated solutions for fast and compliant outcomes. Collaborate effectively in our agile, global environment with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to meet operational and security standards.

Responsibilities
In this role you will:

  • Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
  • Develop and uphold Azure cloud governance policies, automating backup, configuration, dependency, and patch management.
  • Utilize DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
  • Monitor system health and cloud environments to ensure governance, security, and compliance standards are met.
  • Conduct incident root-cause analyses, implementing robust preventive measures to minimize downtime and ensure quick recovery.
  • Collaborate with business owners and across teams to verify compliance, address irregularities, and ensure continuous innovation.
  • Report and escalate issues to the Cloud Platform and Cloud Modernization teams for resolution, incorporating feedback loops to improve.
  • Take part in creating new services delivered on Azure, focusing on continuous improvements to security, reliability, scalability, and cloud operations processes.

Experience with agile methodologies.

Your Skillset
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge in the following areas:

  • Extensive skill in Azure cloud services and operations, with proficiency in cloud management and native Azure resources like AppServices, Azure Backup, and Azure Monitor.
  • Automation background, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines that include collaboration with developers, architects, and other DevOps teams in our Azure services delivery.
  • Solid understanding of backup, patch, and security best practices, along with configuration management tools and practices.
  • Familiarity with open-source tools and managed service offerings, and knowledge of cloud governance and policy compliance.
  • Problem-solving skills and incident response capabilities, with the ability to explain complex issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools and techniques for cloud environments.
  • Effective communication skills, with English proficiency at C-level.
  • Experience in providing observability and applying Site Reliability Engineering principles.
  • Experience with ITIL, ServiceNow, or similar frameworks
