Your role and responsibilities
In Electrification Business – Smart Power Division, we are looking for a Global Application Specialist in motor starting and protection, control and safety application. In this role you will be team member of Agile Team (AT) Develop Applications and Solutions: Industrial Machinery & Control within Agile Unit (AU) Industry & Control The work model for the role is hybrid. This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power (ELSP) globally. You will be mainly accountable for: Developing applications in machinery and various industrial sectors, focusing on low voltage products such as motor starters, contactors, soft starters, and digital control solutions. Analyzing and defining the competitive landscape for ABB while monitoring market trends to recommend strategic adjustments for both long-term and mid-term goals. Assisting customers in identifying optimal solutions for their projects, ensuring that their specific needs are met effectively. Supporting testing and validation processes for applications, ensuring that products meet required standards and performance metrics. Fostering a positive customer journey by providing feedback to R&D, product management, and digital teams regarding new developments while upholding ABB’s core values of safety and integrity.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with knowledge of motor starting and protection solutions, motor control centers, control panel boards, and other industrial applications.
• Experience in industry segments such as machinery, food and beverage, and water and wastewater management.
• Technical understanding with the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, along with a willingness to learn and continuously acquire new competencies.
• Agile mindset with experience in an agile working context, promoting adaptability and collaboration.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English, complemented by strong negotiation skills, market knowledge, leadership abilities, and social skills.
