Asset Health Wind Turbine Technician - Nearshore Operations
Ørsted
Join us in this role where you’ll conduct remote diagnostics, perform on-site troubleshooting, and execute reliability-based retrofits to prevent turbine failures and extend asset lifespan. You’ll work closely with the Technical Optimisation team, Quality Assurance Leads, and Asset Performance Team to minimise unplanned downtime and maximise turbine availability.
Welcome to UK West Nearshore Operations
You’ll be part of the UK West Nearshore Operations team where you, together with your colleagues, will monitor and diagnose asset health, plan and execute maintenance interventions, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
As a team, we we foster a collaborative spirit and a safety-first culture.
You’ll play an important role in:
- conducting remote diagnostics of offshore wind turbines, analysing alarms, trends, and performance data to determine potential issues
- planning and executing proactive interventions based on diagnostic findings to restore asset health and prevent future failures
- working collaboratively with the Technical Optimisation team to identify turbines requiring maintenance interventions and schedule planned visits
- ensuring the correct parts, tools, and technical documentation are prepared before offshore visits to maximise efficiency
- performing troubleshooting and root cause analysis for asset health-related failures, ensuring corrective actions address underlying problems rather than symptoms
- completing reliability-based retrofits and engineering updates to improve asset performance and stability.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have completed a full apprenticeship in control and instrumentation, mechanical or electrical engineering, ideally to HNC standard
- have significant experience in wind turbine maintenance, remote diagnostics, or reliability-based maintenance
- possess strong knowledge of wind turbine components, fault diagnosis, and reliability engineering principles
- have experience in remote monitoring and diagnostic tools, with the ability to interpret alarm trends and turbine performance data
- understand Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR), HSE regulations, and compliance requirements
- can work effectively in offshore environments
- have a proactive, can-do attitude, with the ability to work under pressure and maintain focus on safety and operational goals.
Please note, this role is CTV, shift-based opportunity.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
