We are looking for an experienced Java Engineer to join our Payments Team at our friendly office in Warsaw, Poland. As a Java Engineer, you will be part of the Payments Sharing and Integration team, responsible for building components to support the European payments infrastructure.

The Payments Sharing and Integration team provides interfaces to outside world to make money transfers, retrieve payment information and generate statements.

This role offers the opportunity to build future infrastructure by combining Cobol and Java solutions, helping our customers stay competitive. The team consists of 13 dedicated members split between Denmark and Poland. At BEC, we prefer frequent office collaboration but also offer the flexibility to work remotely up to 8 days per month. Your direct manager will be Sylwia Remjasz.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

• Java development
  : Minimum 3 years experience in Java 17
• API integration
  : experience in designing, developing, and integrating RESTful and SOAP APIs.
• MQ
  : Understanding of asynchronous messaging patterns and event-driven architecture
• DB2
  : Strong SQL skills and experience with database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Git:
  Experience with Git workflows and best practices for collaborative development
• Bitbucket
  : Familiarity with Bitbucket for source code management and repository hosting.
• Agile project management (Jira)
  : experience with Agile methodologies and tools, particularly Jira
