Student Assistant in Energy Trading & PPA

Are you a committed and structured student looking to get hands-on experience in the energy trading space? Would you like to gain valuable and relevant job experience working with Power Purchase Agreements and Energy Data Management? Then you might be our new Student Assistant in Energy Trading & PPA.

Your new team
You will be part the Energy Trading & PPA team, which is responsible for green power sales to energy distributors and corporate off-takers. The team is based in Copenhagen and currently consists of 10 full-time employees split into three sub-teams: Origination, Power Market Analysis, and Risk Management. You will sit with the Risk Management team. European Energy is a dynamic work environment and there will be opportunities to get involved in many areas of the business.

How you will create impact
As a Student Assistant, you will play a key role in different task:

  • You will assist the Energy Trading & PPA team with managing our ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) system and automated reports.
  • Help define and maintain price- and contract data in our ETRM system.
  • Monitor the data quality coming in and out of the ETRM system.
  • Develop and maintain (input to) revenue and exposure reports.
  • Assist with reporting power sales for compliance purposes (REMIT/EMIR).
  • Help with power market analysis to support PPA pricing and trading activities.
  • Assist with ad hoc tasks.

What we look for
You are looking for a student currently studying a Bachelor or Master at university level or an equivalent institution within a technical or quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Economics or similar. Moreover, we imagine that:

  • You can contribute significantly to solving technical problems.
  • You have experience with one or more programming languages, such as Python, C# or Java.
  • Some familiarity with data modelling and RESTful APIs will be highly beneficial.
  • Experience with the Microsoft 365 suite, particularly Excel and Power BI.
  • You are proficient in English, oral and written, and have good communication skills.
  • You have a genuine interest in energy markets.
  • You are friendly, curious, and eager to learn.
