Lead Financial and Quantitative Model Developer

Ørsted

Join us in this role where you’ll be part of the dedicated and talented Market Data team, consisting of 7 specialists. The team is responsible for our in-house Price Store and EoD curve modelling engine, where we source and validate external price data, model arbitrage-free price curves on required granularity, and expose data to relevant stakeholders. The team supports enterprise wide and covers Gas, Power, CO2, Metals, Interest Rates, FX, Inflation etc. We are on a digital transformation journey, where you'll create self-service tools for users, improve automatic price quality checks, collaborate with stakeholders, and guide contract structuring, as we move towards a digital future.

Welcome to Market Data
You’ll be part of newly established 1st line Risk Management organisation in Trading & Revenue, where you will work in a professional and informal environment, close to Risk Managers, Traders and Quants. You'll join a team of data engineers, forward curve modelers, and full-stack developers. The team is based in Gentofte and Warsaw.

Our work culture is built on transparency, proactive risk management, and continuous improvement.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • Establishing a contract price structuring and pre-deal advisory capability in the 1st line Risk Management Organisation, supporting the ambitious Trading & Revenue strategy
  • Enhancing our next-generation forward and scenario curve modelling library in Go, with new functionalities and methodologies
  • Assisting with various data-oriented tasks, such as adding new prices, to ensure that our price store contains the data needed to implement New Products in a timely manner
  • Engaging with stakeholders to understand their challenges and requirements, allowing you to deliver the right solution to the business.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • Have a master’s degree or higher in a financial discipline
  • Have extensive knowledge of financial products as well as the energy markets and the renewable industry
  • Are curious to learn new terminologies and concepts and have a creative mindset to transform requests into an automated framework
  • Enjoy programming – prior experience with Go is not a pre-requisite, we’re looking for someone who has programming experience and a desire to continuously learn
  • Enjoy working in a team and contributing to an informal, positive atmosphere.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
