Enterprise Data Architect

This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw and you will join our Enterprise Data Team.

As an Enterprise Data Architect, you will establish and own the ecosystem data target picture, ensuring a scalable, secure, and efficient data architecture across the enterprise. You will drive its implementation, aligning with business and IT strategies, and enabling data-driven decision-making for financial services clients.

At BEC, we prefer frequent office collaboration but also offer the flexibility to

work remotely up to 8 days per month.
Your direct manager will be Khay Ling Poh.

Primary task and responsibilities include:
Define & Own Enterprise level Data Architecture Target picture:

• Develop and maintain the enterprise data target picture, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Drive the adoption of Data Vault best practices to enable a modern, scalable data ecosystem.

Enterprise-Wide Data Governance & Standardization:

• Establish data architecture principles, support the governance frameworks, and enforce best practices across the organization.
• Establish and enforce the design patterns driven by data security, privacy regulations and compliance.

Solution Design & Implementation:

• Together with Data platform domain architect, lead the design and integration of data platforms, pipelines, and storage solutions.
• Together with business domain architects, lead the master data, reference data, and metadata design across the data ecosystem.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure efficient data ingestion, transformation, and analytics solutions.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Leadership:

• Partner with business leaders, data engineers, and data scientists/analysts to align data architecture with business objectives.
• Act as a trusted advisor for data-related decisions, balancing performance, cost, and compliance considerations.
• Drive cross-functional adoption of data-driven culture and architecture best practices.

Technology Evaluation & Innovation:

• Evaluate emerging data technologies, architectures, and methodologies to ensure continuous innovation.
• Recommend improvements and optimizations for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

To succeed you will have:

• Proven experience (7+ years) in data architecture, preferably within financial services or banking IT environments.
• Strong expertise in Azure Cloud data services (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks).
• Experience with Data Vault 2.0 modelling for scalable, auditable data warehousing.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and regulatory compliance in financial services.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Spark for data processing and architecture solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business needs.
• Experience in leading and influencing enterprise-wide data strategy and implementation.

It’s nice-to-have:

• Certifications in Azure Data Architecture (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
• Experience with event-driven and real-time data architectures.
• Knowledge of machine learning and AI-driven analytics in financial services.
