The team

The Go-To-Market Team is part of the broader Investor Relations & Business Development (IR & BD) Team in CIP, which today is approximately 80 employees with diverse background across more than 15 nationalities.

The IR & BD Team covers all interactions with investors and business development activities from product ideation, fund development, to fundraising and investor engagement. You will become part of an international and diverse team that is composed of professionals from different backgrounds, including investment banking, management consulting and law. The IR & BD team is based out of 7 offices across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.

The primary responsibility of Go-to-Market Team is to lead the launch of new funds and support fundraising activities, including but not limited to:

  • Developing comprehensive commercial materials to introduce new funds to the market, such as analyzing market outlook and opportunities, formulating investment strategies and articulating value creation approach, closely collaborating with investment teams and; and
  • Working closely with the broader Investor Relations Team to lead content development for key investor meetings and events by creating impactful presentations and addressing specific investor requests.

The role

In this position you will be exposed to a variety of day-to-day tasks and projects with different teams across the firm, ranging from investment teams and investment management to finance, legal, ESG and others. This provides you with a valuable opportunity to engage with stakeholders across the global CIP platform to continuously improve our product offering to investors.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct market research to assess investment opportunities for the fund’s key focus areas, develop the investment strategy and articulate value creation approach of a new fund in close collaboration with the relevant investment team
  • Establish a solid positioning of CIP and the fund for prospective investors by developing investor material such as the pitch book, Private Placement Memorandum (PPM) and other commercial documents
  • Project manage all relevant workstreams in preparing a fund for fundraising, requiring close collaboration with multiple teams in CIP (e.g. ESG, Finance, Legal, Compliance, etc.)
  • During the fund-raising period, in partnership with the Investor Relations distribution team and investment teams to create commercial materials (incl. presentations) for investor meetings and events (e.g., regional roadshows), addressing specific investor requests and questions

You:

You have a relevant Master’s degree and come with relevant experience from a fund manager, private equity firms, institutional investor advisors and placement agents, investment banks, or strategy/financing/business development role in a corporation.

Key qualifications and experiences include:

  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience desired for the Associate / Sr. Associate. Experience working with infrastructure fund managers, private equity firms, institutional investor advisors, and placement agents is beneficial
  • Advanced communication and problem-solving skills are essential, including the ability to create compelling investor-facing presentations, address investors’ requests, and effectively communicate complex problems effectively with multi-stakeholders
  • The candidate should possess structured and logical thinking to conduct research and analysis related to macro-economics, the energy and private market, and fund performance
  • Being a team player with good interpersonal skills to coordinate processes, mobilize resources with multiple stakeholders, and resilience to manage task efficiently with tight deadlines
  • Self-driven with a deep curiosity and motivation to learn and explore new ideas
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel is essential
