We are seeking an expert within GC-MS to be part of the product development of medical devices.
Would you like to analyze how our medical devices interact with our end-users? And do you want to step into an international company as one of our experts in methodical chemistry, where you get to make a difference for people with intimate health care needs?
Then join our pre-clinical team and be part of development projects with your chemical knowledge and develop test methods as part of the development of new products within our different business areas.
”You’ll really get to immerse yourself in your area of expertise. With us, you don’t have to be afraid to release your inner nerd,” says Lene Feldskov, Director for Pre-clinical, Test & Characterization within R&D.
Join a cross-functional team with amazing team spirit.
In our R&D organization at HQ in Humlebæk, you will be part of the pre-clinical team covering a broad spectrum of competences from biological, biochemical, polymer, mechanical and the chemical area, around 20 scientist that together are responsible for giving design input and evaluating the performance at the biomedical interface of our current and coming products. The Pre-Clinical department is an integral part of the Test & Characterization organization within R&D, where we lead the design, documentation, and execution of test strategies.
We support product and technology development projects with analytical tests and general chemical support within wound-, continence-, bowel- and ostomy care products, working closely with our specialized laboratory technicians, and are currently looking for a new scientist for the team.
“We have a high scientific atmosphere where knowledge sharing is top of mind – always. And with different areas of expertise, we complement each other really well,” explains Lene.
Become our GC-MS experts of early screening of extractables and leachables
As one of our pre-clinical chemical analysis scientists, you will become one of our experts in chemistry, supporting projects with your chemical competences, developing and optimizing new analytical methods and helping us understand how our products perform. You will work on a diverse range of products within wound-, ostomy- and continence care. Doing so, you will bring your important chemical knowledge to various cross-functional projects, just as you will rethink and help solve unexpected challenges.
Our well-equipped analytical lab will serve as a broad toolbox for solving diverse and complex challenges together with your colleagues. These tools include HPLCs, GC-MSs, IC, HRAM LC-MS, ICP-OES, IR, Raman, UV-vis, TGA, SEMs and XRF.
You can look forward to spending a great deal of your time in the laboratory together with the technicians, developing new methods and collaborating closely with adhesive-, material- and mechanical specialists, our end-users and of course, your colleagues within the team.
”You’ll join projects for longer periods of time but also solve shorter tasks in other projects. What’s great is that we still sit together as a team, so there’s always a specialized colleague close by,” says Lene.
As our coming analytical chemical scientist you will be responsible for screening extractables and leachables during the development projects to support the chemical compliance documentation of our products. You will be responsible for screening prototypes in the early development using one of our Agilent GC-MS. For you to get the most out of this role, we imagine that you:
• Have a master degree or higher with a solid knowledge of organic- and analytical chemistry as well as a broad background in chemistry in general
• Have hands-on experience with GC-MS, preferably from Agilent and various samples introduction techniques e.g. liquid injection, SPME, headspace, pyrolysis etc.
• Have experience working with screening for extractables and leachables
• Have a broad experience in other chromatographic techniques like HPLC, IC, and LC-MS
• Have a good understanding of sample preparation techniques
• Speak and write English fluently
• Have a drive to understand complex chemical problems
