Do you enjoy cross-functional collaboration and customer-focused projects? As a project engineer at GEA, you will gain valuable experience and insight into our customers' products and processing plants, as you will play an active role in designing systems that help optimise their production. From design to implementation, you can look forward to collaborating with skilled colleagues across our many areas of expertise to develop tailored solutions that meet each of our customers’ unique challenges. Whether you are a seasoned professional or just starting out, we offer opportunities that reflect your experience and ambitions.
Your responsibilities and tasks:
You will be based at our office in Skanderborg, where you will join a dedicated engineering team delivering sustainable project solutions. Our projects typically run for 12 to 18 months and combine complex technical tasks with close collaboration across multiple disciplines.
Joining GEA Liquid Technologies, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the full project lifecycle for liquid projects in the Nordic region – from sales through project execution and aftermarket services.
You will contribute to the execution of customer projects from design to handover (including commissioning and start-up), as well as occasionally participating in the pre-project and proposal stages. On some projects, you may take on a dual role as both project engineer and project manager.
More specifically, you will:
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), mass balances, process and instrumentation diagrams for hygienic food designs
- Develop P&IDs, equipment sizing and specifications, services consumptions, tank design and 3D layout optimisation for hygienic food designs
- Review 3D model designs, typically done by a technical designer
- Oversee procurement, collaborating with domestic and international suppliers
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules and resource planning
- Supervise and, to some extent, participate in process commissioning at customer sites
As you will be collaborating closely with our customers, you can expect some travel in the Nordic region for customer meetings, supplier visits and customer site activities.
Your profile and qualifications:
You thrive in a team-oriented environment and excel at building strong professional networks. Your analytical mindset and attention to detail ensure high-quality outcomes, while your collaborative approach drives innovative solutions.
Additionally, we imagine that you bring:
- A degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, dairy engineering or a similar field
- Some project engineering experience – perhaps within food and dairy applications
- Some experience in commissioning liquid processing systems (not a prerequisite)
- Strong proficiency in spoken and written English
Finally, you preferably live near our site in Skanderborg, as this will be your regular work location.
