Legal Experts - IP Contracts

You will join our IP Booster team in Copenhagen, Denmark, as the in-house legal expert on contracts related to Intellectual Property (IP). We are responsible for patents and IP contracts in Arla Foods and for boosting the use of IP as a strategic tool to achieve our strategic goals. We are a business-oriented team encompassing skills within IP Law, Contract Law, Patens and Patent Law and IP Management. As such, we fulfil the role as IP department for all innovation and R&D activities globally in Arla Foods. Look forward to a position in a truly international organisation that will give you 1-2 travel days per week – mostly to our locations in Aarhus.

Transform IP into a strategic tool
You and your colleagues’ primary objective is to secure that IP is recognised and valued as a strategic tool and to define and lead Arla’s transition to apply IP strategically. Based on commercial flair and understanding, you offer legal advice to Project Managers and other relevant stakeholders on the use of IP agreements. Interacting closely with the business representative, you draft IP agreements that reflect the interests of Arla Foods, and through lectures you create legal awareness and improve your colleagues’ understanding of the importance of IP. Moreover, you have a key role in negotiating IP-related contracts with various external business partners. You tailor your services to individual stakeholders across the organisation to bring as much value to the business as possible. Your work is done in a very close collaboration with your team colleagues, in particular the Team Director, who will be your point of reference. Last but not least, you are responsible for all work and tasks related to IP contracts including legal advice, drafting, reviewing, contract negotiations and finally all related administrative tasks.

Legal expert with contract law experience
You hold an MSc in Law and have 3-5 years’ professional experience drafting and negotiating IP contracts, possibly either from an in-house legal function or a law firm. Or you are a qualified Lawyer with at least 2-4 years’ experience drafting and negotiating IP contracts. It is crucial that you are capable of driving each case from start to finish and that you are passionate about servicing stakeholders at all levels in the organisation. Besides, your keen attention to detail, high level of commercial and legal awareness and professionalism make you an interesting candidate for this position. A high level of proficiency in both verbal and written English is prerequisite in this position.
