Exerp A/S
- Want to join a Great Place to Work certified company full of highly skilled people, with a down to earth attitude and an atmosphere based on mutual respect, empowerment and trust?
- Thirsty for developing on a large and complex SaaS application?
If you think "yes of course!"
… Then this position might be just right for you!
A little about us:
At Exerp, we are on a mission to make the world healthier & happier by shaping the fitness industry.
Our primary platform helps our customers handle all aspects and business processes fitness operators need. It's everything from members being able to sign up for team training, book an appointment with a personal trainer to handling electronic payments and integration with payment solutions. In addition, we also have solutions for reporting and data analysis, and mobile apps for both employees of the fitness operators and for their members.
We are a global company and in addition to the headquarters in Copenhagen, we also have offices in West Palm Beach and Sydney.
Our platform powers many of the largest fitness and health club operators in the world and, for now, we are handling more than 1700 clubs and over 6 millions members, with many more to come. All this on three continents…
By joining our DevOps teams, you will be focusing on developing and enhancing features related to member management (eg. bookings, billings, subscriptions, BI reporting etc.) as well as build up our point of sale features by integrating different POS hardware with our core platform. We are very much centered around API’s and integrate with many third party systems, inhouse as well as external.
A little about you:
We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join one of our agile development teams to work on our Software-as-a-Service solution for the Health and Fitness industry.
As a candidate you:
- Have a solid foundation as a Java developer but have also been curious about other programming languages, platforms and frameworks
- Have 4+ years of experience as a developer in general
- Care about writing beautiful and well-structured, correct and testable code
- Knowledge of DevOps using Docker, Terraform and Kubernetes is a plus
- Want to make a difference to our clients
- Enjoy taking time to sit down and solve hard problems
- Work well with others
- Have good communication skills, including a strong command of the English language
We get extra delighted if:
While not required, knowledge of user interface design, test-driven development/BDD, technical writing, product requirements, and/or operations is a clear benefit. Don't worry if you don't know all that right now; you will have the opportunity to pick it up later.
A little about the technical landscape:
Our primary platform runs in the cloud on Amazon Web Services (hosted on Kubernetes clusters) and we release a new version every week (though technically we can release for every change we make).
Below you can read about the technologies we use. Of course, a lot more is going on inside the engine room but this is some of the major highlights.
- Back-end tech: Java EE (EJB3, JPA, JMS, etc.), JBoss/Wildfly, Apache gateway, Oracle/PostgreSQL, SOAP and REST APIs for integration and apps
- Front-end: Java client built with SWT, Web clients built in vue.js, Mobile Apps built using Flutter and native technologies
- Continuous Integration: Jenkins pipeline build
- Deployment and hosting: Amazon Web Services / Kubernetes
As mentioned above we are moving towards running our applications (Docker containers) on Kubernetes so knowledge in this area will definitely be a plus but not a requirement.
We offer:
- A vibrant informal workplace with plenty of diversity with a high level of freedom
- Amazing and dedicated colleagues
- Good benefits- We are very fond of social activities, our pool table and our recurrent Friday bar ;-)
- Room for you to play with new cool stuff, whether it’s learning a new skill or trying something new.
- A workplace where days are never the same
Our recruitment process is in 4 steps:
- We will review your application and send a case for you to solve
- We will then call you in for an interview with our HR manager and the VP of Engineering
- You’ll have the opportunity to meet with your potential scrum master and a team member for a deeper discussion
- You’ll meet the whole team

We create shared places where people interact, connect, share and have the freedom to let their creativity loose.
At the same time, we provide the best tools and the right space for our specialists to work efficiently and expertly. Whether it’s a chat by the coffee machine or a transatlantic brainstorm in our video conference rooms, we work with passion, energy and style.

We measure our success as a business – by the success of our customers.
