As a Legal Counsel, you will become part of the Legal team, which is a core function in Nuuday’s organization and provides legal support to the board, the management team and various group functions on a variety of critical paths.
The Legal team currently consists of 9 highly skilled and committed professionals (5 attorneys, 1 assistant attorney and 3 law students), who provide best in class legal and regulatory support, recognizing collaboration as their strength. The Legal Team is led by Head of Legal, Kristian Høeg Hagen Høgsbro.
The Legal team is involved in all significant transactions within Nuuday’s business and is responsible for drafting, negotiating and finalizing legal documentation and generally ensuring that legal risks are assessed and dealt with appropriately. The team also provides advice and guidance to the senior management team on business issues and ensures that the activities of Nuuday are conducted in a manner that complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Nuuday is looking for a dedicated and skilled professional to take on the position as Legal Counsel, reporting directly to Head of Legal. You will act as a constructive advisor to both the commercial organization and the corporate management team, providing guidance and direction which reflect sound judgement and legal expertise. You will be supporting within a wide range of legal areas, including IT and technology law, general contract law, GDPR, and various telco related matters. In undertaking such tasks, you will interact with a variety of internal as well as external stakeholders.
To succeed in the role, you need to be pro-active by nature and practical, structured, and business-oriented in your approach. You are a person who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and you possess the ability and willingness to support and advise within a broad field of legal areas and to adapt to changes, including changes that affect the prioritization of tasks.
You will be working from the offices at the Nuuday Head Quarter in central Copenhagen.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
In the role as Legal Counsel, you will play an essential role in driving the legal efforts in Nuuday.
Your main responsibilities will be the following:
- Drafting, negotiating, and advising in relation to various IT, telco and technology contracts, as well as other commercial contracts.
- Advising in relation to various large purchase projects within relevant product areas (e.g., television or telecommunication), including drafting and negotiating the relevant documentation.
- Generally, advising and supporting the business within a variety of commercial legal areas and GDPR.
- Managing contractual claims and disputes.
- Generally, advising on and responding to ad-hoc requests and queries from various stakeholders across the different business units and providing business oriented legal solutions to complex and novel problems in a fast-moving environment, which allows the business to progress without exposing the company to unacceptable risks.

YOUR BACKGROUND:
Education: You are a qualified lawyer (cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur.) with a strong academic legal background combined with not less than 2 (and potentially several more) years of practical experience within relevant legal areas, preferable from a commercial environment such as a law firm and/or a group function in a larger private company. Experience within telco is a plus but not a requirement.
