Equipment Design Engineer

Job-Link is looking for an Equipment Design Engineer based in Copenhagen- for one of our International customers - who delivers Project Execution within Food Systems.

Our customer is a global support organization with the purpose of delivering engineering; supply and project management within a wide range of applications and industries. They are a global organization with offices and employees across the world.

About the job

As a Static Equipment Design Engineer, you will design mechanical equipment especially complex vessels for food systems and specifying mechanical components. You will coordinate the work and ensure the drawing quality of the other designers working on the projects and secure quality during fabrication and assist in workshop inspection.

Key tasks:

  • Coordinate with project team to develop and/or coordinate development of drawings
  • Preparation of technical specifications, data sheets for mechanical equipment including pressure vessels, tanks and other process equipment
  • Ensure the required services meet Alfa Laval, customer, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget
  • Review vendor documentation and drawings
  • Review/perform strength calculation (Pressure vessels mainly, including FEA)
  • Specify mechanical components including piping, fittings, agitators, distributors, etc.
  • Secure design and verification process for appointed equipment and secure and support standardization of designs and products across project.

What you know

We imagine you have a mechanical engineering degree. To succeed in this position, you must:

  • Have knowledge of Pressure vessel design rules as per international standards (i.e. ASME Section VIII-Div. 1 and EN 13445)
  • Possess experience in designing static equipment
  • Have knowledge of mechanical systems and/or pressure tanks manufacturing
  • Have general knowledge of industry standards and best practices including EN, ISO, ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API among others
  • Possess highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and be able to consistently deliver quality, accuracy and timely work to peers and customers
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English and preferably also Danish
  • Have knowledge about welding and quality inspections, which would be an advantage
  • Possess experience within Oil and gas industry, which would be an advantage.
