Senior Biogas Manager, Power-to-X
Does it motivate you to be on the very frontline of the renewable energy business? Would you like to put your extensive experience within the biogas sector and your strong commercial and project management profile to work at European Energy in our Power-to-X division?

Then we look forward to welcoming you as our new colleague.

Your new team

You will be part of our PtX-department consisting of 70 committed colleagues. We are currently working on several utility-scale projects in Denmark as well as North and South America and Australia.  We are today active in the biogas market through our purchases of biogenic CO2 for the production of methanol. As we see the interplay between the power- and biobased energy markets increasing in the future, we are seeking to improve our understanding of the biogas market from a technical and commercial perspective.

Your new role

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing opportunities in the biogas space which may include greenfield and brownfield projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Research, identify, and evaluate the technical and commercial viability of potential biogas project opportunities, and drive such opportunities independently
  • Manage projects within the biogas space with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze domestic/international market trends and competitor activities in the biogas industry
  • Understand and – together with your colleagues – develop the links between biogas and Power-to-X activities
  • Handling the regulatory and permitting needs of biogas projects
  • Applying financial models to evaluate project economics, including cost estimation, revenue projections, and ROI calculations
  • Investigate new technologies in the biogas sector.

You can expect 20-30 days of travel activity (including domestic trips).

Job prerequisites

  • A degree in engineering, environmental science, agricultural engineering, business, or a related field
  • Proven experience (min. 5 years) in the biogas sector
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Hands-on experience with managing complex projects with multidisciplinary stakeholders (internal/external), ideally within the energy sector
  • You are driven by curiosity about new technological innovations and pathways
  • Strong business acumen, commercial awareness, and a solid understanding of relevant energy and anaerobic digestion processes
  • Proficiency in English, orally and written
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and preferably SharePoint.

You are enthusiastic, proactive, and results-driven. You possess solid problem-solving and analytical skills. You thrive working independently as well as a part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You have good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with and manage a diverse group of stakeholders.

With us you get

  • To be part of a rapidly growing company at the core of the green transition
  • The possibility to work in an entrepreneurial environment where gaining hands-on experience is encouraged, while at the same time, new ideas and proactivity are valued
  • We make an effort to welcome you as our new colleague. We prepare individual onboarding plans and everyone is assigned a buddy
  • We prioritize our employees’ development. You will be enrolled in our People Development Program to ensure continuous learning and engagement
  • We offer the opportunity to work remotely and have flexible working hours.
