We're now looking for a Head of Engineering. The Head of Engineering is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the engineering department and ensuring the alignment of its outputs with the company's strategic objectives. This role involves leading a team of engineers and team leads, fostering a culture of innovation where teams thrive, and driving the development and implementation of technological solutions. The role is also highly technical and will be involved in the objectives of the teams and join technical discovery and code discussions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering and architecture, proven leadership experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments to push the boundaries of what is possible.

About the job

  • Lead and mentor the engineering team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement including training and development of team members.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, procedures, and methodologies to ensure excellence and consistency across all projects.
  • Play a pivotal role in strategic planning with a focus on our tech stack and architecture in solutions and codebase  to support the company's growth.
  • Empower team leads and their teams, ensuring they are equipped to achieve exceptional results.
  • Maintain alignment with the company’s vision, objectives, and key results through effective leadership and communication.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to achieving company goals.
  • Be able to get into the weeds and lead on bigger strategic projects that Product is driving.

About you

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing engineering teams, preferably in a high-growth technology company.
  • Proven track record of scaling technology and teams effectively.
  • Strong experience in mentoring engineers and creating high-quality engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, data structures, and cloud infrastructure
  • Ability to navigate and lead through change with an emphasis on best practices and industry standards.
  • Keen interest and preferably experience in our tech stack of Laravel, GraphQL and VueJS. 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
