Danish Red Cross (DRC) is looking for someone with vision, resilience, and passion for humanitarian work, to lead DRC’s contribution to responding to the needs in Sudan and to building disaster management capacities with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS). Purpose of the role

The primary objective of the Disaster Management Programme Manager position is to provide quality guidance and support to SRCS in managing DRC-supported response operations, with a particular focus on building SRCS’s disaster management capacities. You will work closely with SRCS teams to design and implement projects across various states in Sudan, while ensuring effective coordination between SRCS and other Red Cross Red Crescent Movement Partner National Societies. Additionally, you will oversee the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of specific projects under your charge. As Disaster Management Programme Manager you will refer to Country Manager, Hector Palacios Pujolar.

The Disaster Management Programme Manager will be based in Port Sudan, Sudan.

The position reports to the Country Manager in Sudan. The duty station is Port Sudan. For 2024 Sudan is a non-family duty station with a paid 7-day Rest and Relaxation (R&R) leave permitted after every 8 weeks in-country. The classification of R&R duty stations is revised yearly and is subject for change.

The ideal starting date is 15th November 2024. There is a 3-month probationary period, and the total length of the contract is 12 months with the possibility of extension.
