Security Adviser (Copenhagen)

Security Adviser in International Department - Copenhagen.

We're looking for a dynamic, experienced Security Adviser to contribute to the effective safety and security risk management of Danish Red Cross operations overseas. 

The Red Cross is the world's largest humanitarian organization and we are looking for a Security Adviser for Danish Red Cross, to support the Senior Security Adviser to roll out the DRC Security Framework and associated processes in the field, supporting long term and rapid deployment staff overseas, focusing primarily on operational support to the field and training. 

You will deliver training at different levels for relevant stakeholders within the organisation, both in Denmark and overseas.  You are expected to undertake security support missions to the field where DRC is operational, according to the need, as well as attending other relevant RC/RC Movement trainings and meetings, but will otherwise be HQ (Copenhagen) based. 

The position is placed within the Operations Unit, which consists of 15 staff supporting the Danish Red Cross strategic engagement, localisation and operation in the 20 Countries where Danish Red Cross has bilateral presence in Africa, Middle East and Norther Africa and Europe/Asia. However, the Security team responsibilites cover the whole international operation, including emergency responses and travel.

The International Department in the Danish Red Cross supports vulnerable people in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, in close cooperation with Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in more than 30 countries, and has an annual turnover of more than 750 million Danish kroner. We work specifically on building preparedness and response capacity. DRC works both with long term activities and short-term response particularly within health, MHPSS, disaster preparedness and response.

Salary and employment conditions will comply with Danish Red Cross’s collective bargain agreement with HK and AC depending on your experience and qualifications.
