The Department of Infectious Diseases, OUH, is a highly specialized department within the region of Southern Denmark, providing care to a population of 1,2 million citizens. The Migrant Health Clinic is an outpatient clinic and part of the Department of Infectious Diseases Q, OUH, and carries out diagnostic evaluation and treatment of primarily ethnic minority patients with a focus on refugee health. The Department of Geriatric Medicine, OUH, is specialized in the treatment of geriatric and older medical patients. The consultants are specialist in internal medicine and in geriatric medicine.

In both specialties a large proportion of the treated patients are characterized as being vulnerable e.g. frail older geriatric patients as well as patients with an ethnic minority background.
