Join our Antifouling Team and help us to revolutionise the Marine Industry
As Innovation Engineer/Chemist, you will become part of our Antifouling R&D team. Your job will be to develop and optimise new technologies for Marine Antifouling coating systems in close contact with colleagues from R&D, external partners and Universities, Product Management and Marketing. What we search for is technologies maximising ship efficiency with the lowest possible environmental impact.

Your main responsibility is
To take part in the development and optimisation of new coating solutions from idea to proof of concept and feasibility (upscaling) assessment. You will be part of screening new technology ideas and planning and running proof of concept tests. If successful, you will carry out more thorough feasibility assessments as a requirement to enter our commercial development pipeline. In the process, you will develop and test prototype solutions and may be involved in the first factory productions and customer tests.

Your tasks will consist of:

  • Idea screening and prioritisation together with the rest of the team.
  • Technical Project Management of knowledge/innovation projects including planning, execution, follow-up, reporting and presentations.
  • Be part of external collaborations and/or Master, Phd and Post-Doc projects
  • Planning of work for lab technicians who will support you during your projects.
  • Intermediate and final reporting of results, with pros and cons analysis and recommendations on how to proceed.

Qualifications and skills:

  • University degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
  • Ph.D. studies and/or experience with research and innovation would be an advantage
  • Experience from the industry and specific knowledge of paint and coating technologies is an advantage
  • Hand-on approach and willingness to work in the lab
  • Fluency in English both verbal and written
