Do you want to be part of developing offshore wind in the US and work with key maritime stakeholders?

Join us and become Marine Affairs Manager in the US Marine Affairs team where you’ll report to the Director of Marine Affairs, US, and work with important maritime stakeholders, including, but not limited to, the United States Coast Guard (USCG), the United States Department of Defense (DoD), and commercial shipping.

Your key tasks will be to

  • liaise with the USCG, DoD, commercial shipping, recreational boating, and fishing (commercial and recreational) during offshore wind project development, construction, and operation
  • attend meetings, conferences, and public events associated with marine affairs and report back to the department and others within the organization
  • create, secure approval of, and execute engagement plans for key stakeholder groups. This strategic goal setting will include clear objectives, measures of success, and desired outcomes as well as an inventory of risks and proposed strategies to mitigate. Plans will be coordinated with project specific development, engineering, construction, and operation plans
  • ensure stakeholder feedback and concerns are collected, documented, and addressed appropriately, and to bring such feedback to individual projects and work collaboratively within the organization and with stakeholders to find solutions that are mutually agreeable
  • execute supervisory, management, and budgetary responsibilities normally associated with management level positions.

Your competences include that you

  • have, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree within a relevant field, e.g. marine affairs, law, or other maritime disciplines
  • have in-depth knowledge of US maritime regulations and policies, as well as relationships with decision-makers, policymakers, and state/federal authorities
  • are willing to and capable of working as part of a team with a diverse background
  • are a trustworthy and impactful communicator with the ability to maintain detailed dialogue, as well as the ability to address large groups
  • have a maritime background, e.g. USCG or marine operations experience.

Additionally, we expect you to have a proactive and systematic approach to your work tasks, the ability to lead and align across various fields of expertise, and master the Microsoft Office suite.
