We're looking for is someone who is an entrepreneur at heart, and sees that sales is the top priority when building a local company in a new market.

You know that people are your strongest asset to help bring in new revenue, and you have the right toolkit to hire, train, and develop high potential sales people to make Pleo succeed in Germany.

On your side of things, you're probably looking for the ability to build something from scratch, and with a whole team backing you, from here in Copenhagen to sales offices in Stockholm, London, and soon to be Berlin!

If this sounds like a match, let's keep going and tell you a bit more about Pleo. We're a company that deals with company spending: we think that all employees should be trusted to spend company money.

We do this through pre-paid cards: use your card, snap a picture of the receipt, and you're done. Our app makes it transparent for team leads and admins to see what's being spent in real time, while taking the load of company spending off the finance team; instead, companies who work with Pleo delegate spending to all employees across the company.

It's an exciting time for us: we just raised a €50M Series B to grow in existing and new markets. One of our newer markets is Germany: right now we have a small but mighty team who have been selling to the German market from our HQ in Copenhagen.

Now we'd like to launch a Berlin office with a strong German Sales Lead helping us to establish and grow our revenue in the German market.

For this, we need someone who is comfortable with everything from picking up the phone and joining in on a power hour with cold calls, to coaching and supporting the career progression and the potential of each person in their team.

We need someone who is very familiar with the German market: and can help us to both replicate our current ways of doing things, as well as bringing in new ideas of how to improve our sales strategies in Germany. On top of this, your deep knowledge of Germany will help us to figure out the must-wins for the product team who will be working on localise our offering to your market.

With our current team based in Copenhagen, we'll need to have you being comfortable to jump on the 1h flight here regularly, first up for training when you join the company, and then to have some F2F check-ins with the team.

Lastly, the B2B SaaS space is pretty specific from a go-to-market and sales training perspective. We see this as a must-have to win at this role: though we're also prepared to be surprised if you can adapt and learn fast to understand the ways to succeed in this.

The must-have skills

    • Previous experience managing a team
    • A proven track-record in sales
    • An entrepreneurial flair: be it by founding a company before or being involved in some way - through Meet Ups, conferences, or startups for instance
    • Deep understanding of the German market
    • Fluent German language skills
    • well as being fluent in English (our company language)
    • Confidence in being the face of Pleo for Germany

    • Have worked in an international setting or lived and worked in other markets aside from Germany
    • Get on the stage and share your knowledge with your community
    • Have set clear career progression paths for team members in the past, and seen them develop steeply into new roles
