The Department of International Economics, Government and Business is seeking an external lecturer (EL) to contribute to teaching in qualitative methods. The position is available from September 2019.
The position is on a temporary part-time basis and limited to three years with the possibility of two three-year extensions.
Responsibilities

  • Teach lectures / exercise classes
  • Take supervision / tutorial sessions
  • Assess assignments
  • Course coordination

All activities are conducted in English.

Qualifications
The position normally requires a relevant master’s degree or equivalent. Teaching qualifications will be taken into consideration in the assessment.

The successful applicant will also:

  • Have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of qualitative methods applied specifically to the intersections between business and government
  • Have an ability to communicate this in an effective and structured form
  • Have substantial prior experience with teaching and coordination of courses on qualitative methods
  • Be ready to work as part of an organized team
  • Have an ability to assess assignments on the basis of set criteria and the capacity to offer individual feed back
  • Have an understanding of university-level study skills and the ways in which these can be introduced to students
  • Be able to communicate, both orally and in writing, in fluent, confident English
  • Provide documentation of successful teaching in qualitative methods

Terms of employment
Salary and employment take place in accordance with the circular regarding external lecturers at universities, etc. under the Ministry of Education.

The hours of work can vary according to needs in the individual semesters to a maximum of 500 hours per academic year. The number of hours will be determined twice a year and the employee will be paid in accordance with this. In connection with employment as an external lecturer, the future employee must accept to take a pedagogical course organised by CBS (only if the employee is not able to document participation in pedagogical courses or experience during the first year of employment) and participate in lecturer meetings.
