Student Assistant, Copenhagen

We are now looking for a Student Assistant to help building and strengthening the analysis of Nordea’s risks, including climate change-related financial risks. We are looking for an analytical talent with ambitions and strong drive to join us within the Balance Sheet Risk Controls team within Group Risk and Compliance (GRC).

About this opportunity
Welcome to Balance Sheet Risk Controls (BSRC), a team of highly qualified and experienced individuals working across complex areas, both individually and as a team. The team sits at the heart of GRCs efforts to ensure robust and transparent financial and regulatory reporting across the Nordea Group.

What you will be doing:

  • Participate in Nordea’s enterprise-wide stress testing.
  • Develop macroeconomic scenarios for Nordea’s stress testing, using Oxford Economics’ Global Economic Model.
  • Develop macroeconomic and financial econometric models.
  • Build and strengthen the oversight and management of climate change-related financial risks in the Nordea Group.
  • Analysis of and elaboration of Nordea’s risk appetite framework and risk profile
  • Support leader and team members with ad hoc tasks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Nordea Group Risk and Compliance as well as across the Nordea Group.

The role is based in Copenhagen.

Your experience and background:

  • Professional economic understanding and experience in programming (Python, C, Matlab or similar
  • Ability to work reactively under pressure as well as to plan effectively and deliver work to agreed timescales is expected
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is also needed
  • Preferably you are on your last year of your Bachelor studies or on your first year of an MSc in economics, mathematics, statistics or engineering
  • Our expectation is that you would be able to work 17-20 hours a week for the next 1-2 years, with the flexibility you need for your studies.
