As a community manager in the Americas region, your role is to recruit technology partners as well as develop relationships with existing and new technology partners in the Milestone open community; all based on joint business opportunities and platform innovation. An essential part of your role is to assist the technology partner with enablement and promotion of their solution/integration internally and externally to Milestone sales channel partners and end users. This requires insights into Milestone as well as the technology partner’s product portfolio, market segments and customer needs, a deeper understanding of how the solutions work, and the value of the combination of these solutions from a user’s point of view.

The Milestone Technical Partner Program aims at supporting and promoting companies that create solutions to meet the diverse needs of our global customer base and thereby increase the overall value of the Milestone solution globally. Today, the technology partner community includes thousands of partners who provide unique solutions that support Milestone’s video management software and/or appliances. You will join a team of community managers and partner program administrators.

The preferred candidate will reside in the Portland Metro Area. However, we will consider candidates from across the USA who are able to work successfully remotely.

  • Assess, engage and develop partnerships with Milestone’s global technology partners with the aim of building up long term relationships, loyalty and joint revenue growth.
  • Be responsible for technology partnerships within a specific region/industry/technology that has a significant impact on Milestone’s business growth.
  • Act as an extension of the Technology Partner Program global headquarters relationship co-developing the program with global counterparts.
  • Identify and execute on specific promotion efforts designed to leverage the ecosystem in the Milestone sales effort.
  • Execute on Milestone’s open community activities that involves technology partners, this could be teaming proposals, events, sales tools etc.
  • Provide expertise and knowledge about the technology area and solutions for which you are responsible.Therefore, you are expected to have a very good technical understanding of the solutions and integrations that the technology partner develops, promotes, and sells, and how these work with Milestone’s products and technology.
  • Identify new local market technology partner candidate companies and technologies.
  • Connect the technology partner community with the Milestone sales effort and channel.
  • Assist with new partner on-boarding process as needed.
  • Assist with solution finder data accuracy for local market partners.
  • Other duties as needed.

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Background in IT, software engineering, channel marketing and/or business development.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in one or more of the following industries: IT, physical security or telecommunications.
  • Willingness to travel – Approximately 50% of the time.

  • Service-minded and exceptionally good at viewing challenges from the user’s perspective.
  • Ability to see and articulate a vision to internal and external stake holders and educate through stories and examples.
  • Strategic client management.

  • IT technical background and knowledge.
  • Assume ownership of your tasks and understand the importance of setting realistic expectations and fulfilling them.

The Department and Team:

Our department's vision is to establish Milestone’s open community as the de facto standard within the surveillance industry. We will achieve this by enabling and promoting Milestone partner integrations and reference designs in order to grow Milestone’s global market share. We have 4 strategic goals:

  • Recruit Technology Partners: To win opportunities, grow the channel partner’s business and to increase Milestone’s footprint in the market, we need to proactive recruit technology/technology partners for the Community and explore untapped business opportunities.
  • Develop Business-driven Relationships: Based on present and future technology requirements and business impact, we develop business-driven relationships with named top accounts in the regions. Our focus is on IT infrastructure, video analytics, and access control partners.
  • Enable solutions: Our biggest challenge is to enable solutions and making them available to the end user and channel partners. First, we must understand their business, then we can improve our business support tools, and successfully enable solutions.
  • Grow partner community: In our attempt to grow our open community, we will focus on knowledge sharing to improve the way we do business, go to market, and address needs. We will make it more attractive to join our community.
