Crown Paints have recently joined forces with J.W. Ostendorf (JWO) to create Decorative Europe; a new region within the Hempel Group, and one of the largest decorative organisations on the European market.

We’re looking for a Contractor/Specification Sales Manager to develop our contractor and specification business in the above postcode areas for the Crown Trade, Sandtex Trade and Sadolin Trade brands.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you’ll be tasked with the identification of key strategic clients for development and the development and delivery of tailored account action plans to targeted key strategic clients.

We need someone to ensure effective communication of all new business and have the ability to plan strategic customer focus and plan call activity accordingly.

This is your opportunity to manage secured business and implement tailored specification support packages.

Here’s some of the other things you can look forward to:

  • You’ll carry out detailed site condition surveys
  • Produce highly detailed technical specifications
  • Achieve agreed targets for volume, value and margin
  • Gain short/medium and long term contractors/specification commitments

Whilst technical and product knowledge from the paint industry and a good understanding of the construction and building industry would be of an advantage, these are not as essential to the role. Our ideal candidate will however be able to demonstrate a proven track record of developing sales within an area from both new and existing customers. They will also require a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and will be able to build good working relationships and possess good interpersonal skills.

Your role will place you in a fast-paced environment where strong presentation skills, advanced selling skills and the ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels is essential for this role.

In order to success, you’ll have the ability to be creative and pioneer new initiatives whilst being organised, confident and a highly motivated self-starter.

You’ll be provided with a company car to carry out your role so you must hold a current valid driving licence.
