Due to current success, Gartner is in the process of expanding its high-performance EMEA and Public Sector Consulting team is Copenhagen. This team is responsible for supporting senior executives across the Public Sector strategize, design, procure, deploy and secure citizen centric services and enabling infrastructure to ensure economic growth whilst delivering value for money for public expenditure.

Responsibilities of the role;

As a successful Associate Director, you will:

  • Manage all components of medium to large-sized proposals and engagements including technical and commercial methodologies, staffing and budgets. Manage the drafting of large-sized engagement proposals and engagement deliverables responsible for its readiness for client release.
  • Identify, develop and document issues and strategic recommendations using independent judgment concerning engagement areas being reviewed.
  • Conduct interviews with senior client management and key senior stakeholders to gain an understanding of client business conditions, risks and controls (including preparation of interview notes).
  • Manage the comprehensive cost / benefits analysis and preparation of business cases for technology investments.
  • Manage the coordination and communicating of key findings and results of engagements via written reports and oral presentations to senior client management and key senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain an Associate Director level expertise and currency in industry leading information management technologies.
  • Manage the drafting of board-level engagement reports and presenting drafts to your manager for review and approval. Present key findings to board-level executives.
  • Manage and mentor all junior Gartner consultants assigned as members of your engagement team or any sub-contracted personnel assigned to the engagement.
  • Develop, build and maintain senior level client relationships.
  • Contribute to the development of project management, quality assurance and professional consulting and auditing approaches/methodologies.
  • Present a senior level professional image in conduct, attitude and conduct.

Professional experience;

  • Consulting experience from a top management or IT professional services firm;
  • Completed university level education with an outstanding and consistent academic record, MBA qualification preferred;
  • Significant IT industry understanding; experience in Public Sector essential;
  • Demonstrable project management skills and experience;
  • Business development experience, evidence of developing new service advantageous;
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to travel and work in a diverse international environment;
  • Ability to analyze problems and create business cases using a variety of tools (e.g. Excel);
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills (ideally in critical political environments);
  • Aptitude for critical and analytical thinking as well as the capacity to accept out-of-the box solutions.
  • Ability to synthesis and translate complex technical aspects into business terms and define from business objectives and constraints complex technical solutions;
  • Autonomous, positive thinker, highly flexible and willing to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • Willingness to be based in our Copenhagen office and travel as required (potentially several days per week);
  • Fluent in English and Danish languages. Other European languages advantageous;
