Engineer Specialist



Hempel A/S is looking for a Engineer Specialist to be a part of the technical development of Hempel’s products.

As a part of our Group Research & Development department at our global HQ, you will be a part of driving the continued development Initiatives improving our products and thereby making us a strong competitor in the coatings market.

In the role you will get to plan, design, conduct, report and drive projects using existing or new scientific methods and theories to solve problems, and improve or generate new products and processes. Activities may include devising research methods, setting up laboratory tests equipment, building models and prototypes, calculating and analysing tests results and preparing detailed reports with recommendations and conclusions.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Technical development (formulation and external certification) of water repellent coating systems in Hempel according to business targets.
  • Plan, conduct and report water repellent system development and support.
  • Drive laboratory work and testing both internally and with external test houses.
  • Ensure that projects meet identified prioritised targets to assist in maintaining the economic impact of a project.
  • Work closely with collegues in the department maintaining a co-operative, motivated and successful team.
  • Support to factories regarding different tasks as pilot production, quality control issues, reworks, product adjustments, manufacturing procedures and complaints.

What does it take to become a Engineer Specialist at Hempel?

We are looking for someone who are newly graduated within a technical area like chemistry, chemical engineering or maybe a material scientist. It is not required that you have a vast work experience, but we are looking for someone with a curious mind, who wants to be part of a team and develop into an appreciated collegue.

You will be working as part of a driven and professional team which consists of 26 employees. You will be reffering to Chief Scientist, David Morton.
