Workplace: Virum

Do you want to use your expertise, passion and integrity to impact the financial modelling methods and market decisions made by the global leader in green energy production?

Join us and become Senior Quantitative Analyst in our great team of analysts, developers and data scientists in the Analytics team in Finance & IT, where you’ll be responsible for developing new pricing methodologies for our rapidly transforming commercial landscape. Technology and algorithms are increasingly important for energy trading and you’ll be at the beating heart of our team’s mission to develop innovative solutions and accelerate the organisation’s journey towards digital trading.

Our models, simulations and digital products enable the organisation to optimise and risk manage energy assets on a global scale, from our primary wind assets to complex gas and power derivatives. Working closely with customers and stakeholders across functions like Market Trading and Risk Management, we’re constantly developing, running and expanding our landscape of high-quality financial models, analytical products, platforms and tools.

Your key tasks will be to

  • develop and implement new mathematical financial models for pricing and hedging a variety of energy contracts
  • influence and drive ongoing development of existing and new quantitative models and provide ad hoc analyses and deliverables
  • integrate models into our production environment
  • collaborate closely with a diverse set of stakeholders, from energy originators, front desk and business analysts to risk management and the broader technical delivery organisation
  • deliver work in a structured manner and actively communicate and share knowledge with team members.

As Senior Quantitative Analyst, you’ll become a visible voice and integral part of the team and help foster and grow a culture of transparency and positive communication.

Your competences include that you

  • hold an MSc or PhD in finance, mathematics, statistics or a similar quantitative field
  • have a solid track record of working in a similar operationally critical environment
  • have substantial knowledge of financial and mathematical modelling, including derivatives pricing, Monte Carlo simulation, stochastic differential equations, statistics and optimisation methods
  • have practical experience with programming in Python and ideally C++
  • have relevant sector experience, ideally from the energy sector.

You’re curious, humble and have a strong desire to be part of – and greatly impact – our diverse team of strong analysts, developers and data scientists. You speak and write English fluently, will thrive in an international environment and be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
