Reporting to the EMEA Formulation and Packaging Tech center Manager you will be part of a global international team focused on improving, standardizing and supporting Operations on keeping the highest standards expected by FMC customers.

Be the packaging specialist for the EMEA region
As Part of the FMC Formulation and Packaging Tech center, you are responsible for packaging in the EMEA region, and you ensure that our business objectives are met by supporting external and internal manufacturing activities. Doing so, you work closely with Product Manufacturing teams across FMC, and you drive and test standards and guidelines for developing packaging solutions for our products. As the Packaging Engineer, you will be responsible for executing on improvement initiatives and standardizing packaging designs and specifications.

You likewise review and improve existing packaging solutions, working with internal and external resources to achieve the packaging goals for all FMC production sites within your region.

Collaborating closely with the EMEA Packaging Sourcing Manager, you also act as coordinator in cross-functional projects and participate in expert networks. You provide internal and external stakeholders with answers to inquiries, and you:

  • Drive process safety – Implement and ensure adherence to Process Safety standards (compliance, third parties, MOC’s, Dangerous good specifications, etc.)
  • Provide technical insight in terms of packaging materials, solutions and set-ups for new products development, packaging standardization, and supply chain projects
  • Monitor technical innovation and sustainability gains to understand the market related to all packaging sub-categories
  • Qualify suppliers and their packaging products regionally
  • Maintain and develop packaging information, documents, templates, and systems
  • Provide support to the business on supplier-related issues

The job will also take you traveling approx. 20 days a year.

Thorough technical understanding of packaging
On a personal level, you are committed and thorough. You are a highly agile learner and have demonstrated your creative problem-solving skills. Strong business acumen and an understanding of profitability combined with time management skills enable you to independently run projects end to end.

Your outgoing nature and ability to influence others to help you drive new initiatives and get all stakeholders on board, and your fair communication skills help get your message across. Moreover, you:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree, preferably within packaging engineering, engineering, industrial supply chain or similar
  • Have a minimum of five years of experience working within a commercial or operational area and, preferably, have experience within the scope of technical packaging
  • Are one step ahead if you have worked at a multinational company or have overseas experience within the chemical industry or related industries
  • Are fluent in English both in speech and writing while proficiency in Danish is an advantage
