The Graduate journey
Our Graduate Programme consists of two-three rotations, where you’ll solve business challenges, be responsible for your own assignments and be engaged in our day-to-day business decisions.

In your three rotations, you’ll work on the power system for our offshore wind farms, connecting the wind turbines to the transmission grid. First, you’ll work on design and grid integration of the system. Then, you’ll ensure the protection of high voltage components, and finally, you’ll work on the SCADA control in the power system.

You’ll play an important role in

  • performing power system studies on an offshore wind farm, including load flow, voltage control, dynamic analysis, short circuit calculations, fault ride through, stability and harmonic studies
  • ensuring selectivity of protection system for high voltage components
  • executing existing SCADA control contracts
  • keeping track of risks and technical challenges
  • communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you’ll have

  • a master’s degree in electrical engineering from before 1 September 2020 with excellent results
  • experience with power systems studies in simulation tools like DigSILENT, PowerFactory or PSCAD
  • strong analytical skills, a high level of personal drive and a high learning ability
  • preferably studied grid codes and TSO requirements regarding grid connection
  • an international, collaborative mindset and an ambition to be the best in your field.

You’ll speak and write English fluently, enabling you to communicate efficiently in a global setting. Moreover, you’ll have the opportunity to travel several times a year to Ørsted offices and sites around the world.
