A business unit of Danfoss, it develops and manufactures high-performance power systems for heavy duty vehicles, machines and marine vessels, based on its unique synchronous reluctance assisted permanent magnet (SRPM) technology.

Based in Lappeenranta, Finland, Danfoss Editron has assembled an award-winning team to work on the technologies that will enable the world of tomorrow to do more with less. EDITRON is the new name for the complete electric drivetrain system developed by the company. It is controlled by powerful software that optimizes each individual component of the electric or hybrid drivetrain, leading to far more intelligent management of power distribution in order to deliver maximum efficiencies for the end user.

Danfoss Editron is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Lappeenranta, Finland. Also Nordborg (DK) can be considered as an location option. In this position, you will be part of the platform development team specialized in the development of embedded systems and control software for power electronics components. These components consist of electric converters and energy storage units, which typically, are developed in C/C++ development tool environments.

As our new Senior Software Engineer, you are responsible for specifying, designing, implementing and documenting of the software artefacts produced in automotive customer projects, such as: source code, tools, methods and processes. As a team member you shall contribute directly to automotive segment customer projects.

To be successful in this position, you hold B.Sc., M.Sc. or higher degree within Electronics, Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering. Previous experience with the following tools, methods and processes is expected from you:

  • 5+ years in C/C++ programming languages and related toolchains
  • 5+ years in electronics or power electronics
  • Control algorithms (Motor, DC/DC)
  • Revision control systems
  • Agile methods
  • Development process tools (Azure)
  • Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)

You should be fluent in English to accommodate the communication requirements of an international organization. Relevant past work experience in the field embedded software development is also considered as benefit. As a person, you can organize and take responsibility for delivering upon set goals. You are a true problem-solver and you always have the business and the customer in focus. You show willpower and drive and you enjoy working in a fast pace environment, focused on results.
